Aids in Fat Burning  – Containing only 30 calories in 100g of raw okra pods, they are also rich in dietary fiber to provide a feeling of satiety. Since okra is very low in calories, there is nothing to worry about eating it as it helps in controlling weight gain. It’s filling without the calories.

Good for Pregnant Uterus n – Okra is good during pregnancy because it contains folic acid which is necessary for fetal neural tube formation. Additionally, studies have shown that eating okra during pregnancy can help ease labor. Can help with fast delivery. I’m guessing it’s the slime in the okra…the more sticky the better since the baby needs to slide out without snags or roadblocks.

Promotes bowel movements – Okra is high in fiber and thus aids in bowel movements. When you go to the bathroom tomorrow after eating a bowl of gumbo, try to notice how easily everything can be flushed out of you. In the toilet, you don’t have to push. It flows so effortlessly. That’s exactly what Okra does. The high fiber content helps create a good press in there

Great for skin and hair –  you can also use it for your hair in addition to soup. Boil some okra pods in a little water until the juice starts to slime, remove the strainer and add a teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the hair and rinse after 10 minutes. Your hair will feel stronger and shinier.

Other benefits of okra include…

  • Helps treat diabetes.
  • Improve Colon Health
  • Supports digestion and relieves constipation.
  • cough up a suit
  • Improve eyesight.
  • Rich in vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber
