Apple has released a new express security update for iPhones running iOS 16. The latest software patches are said to be a quick security response, issued when companies discover major bugs or security holes that require quick fixes to prevent breaches.
The iOS 16.4.1(a) Express Security Update is only around 90 MB for iPhones running on iOS 16.4.1, and as such, it doesn’t introduce any new features. Instead, it fixes a major security issue and makes the iPhone more secure. Even if you are using an earlier version of iOS, it is recommended that you install this patch to further improve your iPhone’s security.
Some users on the social media platform reported that their devices failed to install the express security update with a “could not verify security response” error message. This can be fixed by restarting the iPhone and re-downloading the software update. Even after downloading the update, make sure your device is connected to the internet. However, we were able to successfully install the update on the iPhone 12 Pro without any issues.
The latest software update is available for all iPhones eligible for the iOS 16 update. Therefore, the update is also available for iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series smartphones.
