Katy Perry will perform at King Charles III’s coronation concert in July and her partner Orlando Bloom is thrilled.
The actor, whose next film, “Sports Cars,” will premiere this August, boasted about his co-star’s upcoming performance.
“My girls can sing, which is fun,” he told “Entertainment Tonight” earlier this week. “Sadly, I won’t be there, but she represents, it’s cool. She does those big, historic things. That’s great. She sings for the president too, you know?”
“Who’s left?” he continued. “Perhaps the Pope.”
The coronation concert will take place the day after King Charles and Queen Camilla are officially crowned at Westminster Abbey. Perry joins a musical lineup that includes Andrea Bocelli and Lionel Richie.
“The concert will celebrate a new chapter in the nation’s history, celebrating the four nations, their communities and the Commonwealth, with themes of love, respect and optimism,” said the BBC, which will broadcast the event.
Perry’s royal appearance follows news in late March that the entertainer and “American Idol” judge had reached a deal with Bloom to not drink for three months.
“I’ve been making an agreement with my partner and I want to quit,” Perry told PEOPLE at the time.
